Yesterday (July 6th 2013) was one of the most entertaining nights I've had so far this summer. Brooklyn truly understand how to throw down and give back to it's community. Still free after 35 years, Brooklyn blows fans away with new music and familiar artists. Previous shows offered The Roots! This year, fans had the chance to listen and watch the performances of Aabaraki, Les Nubians and the highlight of the night Theophilus London. Check out the video below as well as my review on his amazing performance!
Man, It's about time I had the chance to see him live. I remember introducing him on my blog a while back in 2009 when I first found out about his soulful, electronic hip-hop, R&B vibe he gives off in his music. This guy is super talented on and off the stage but seeing him live with his talented band members just hits your soul and you can actually feel the emotion of each track he decides to showcase. First he started out with some relatively new tracks from his latest album "Timez are weird these days" and "Rose Island Vol.1" However, my all time favorite part was when he took it back to his first mixtape days and gave us "Cold Pillow", "Flying overseas" and other classics. Then he gave us some new exclusive sounds (A remix of Rihanna's song "Jump") and had the whole audience turnt up! Hands down this was one of the best performances I've seen in a while, stage wise, fashion wise and music wise. I hope you all get the chance to experience his music live at one point in your life, it's highly recommended! Expect a new album from him soon and make sure you download his song RIO and check out the video.
Photos will be up later on this week! Hope you all enjoyed the video, sorry for the pour quality.
