Back to reality

Summer is finally coming to an end. I'm super happy about that. School is literally in a week from now, I also start my first footwear internship tomorrow! (I'll be working with brands like: Derek Lam, 10 Crosby & Kate Spade to name a few.)  Lately, I've been craving to create more accessories with a earth tone color template, but the more and more I start to fall in love with the minimalist approach. I was reading Elle's September issue, searching for inspiration for the fall semester. While reading, I came across designer Joseph and his modern minimalist style. Check out the behind the scenes video of his AW13 Campaign:

Inspiration, Motivation, Success

There is no denying that Pharrell Williams is a inspiration to many people including myself. There is just something about his determination and willpower that speaks to creative minds that makes them want to go out and strive that much harder every time they hear his voice. It's crazy we share the same birthday at that, but I hope one day to achieve the things he has during his time. Ever have those days when you are just stuck in a unmotivated mood? I have plenty of them, in fact I have plenty of days where I feel like giving up, but what will that accomplish? Watching this video will surely get you out of that dark mood and pick you right back up on that path to success.

A Fresh Step

I haven't really posted much selection for guys out there because I do like to design for women, I feel more inspired when I design for ladies for some reason but I do want to venture out to mens eventually. But for all my male readers here is my selection on footwear this upcoming fall season.

Vogue Voices | Alexander Wang

Although this video dates back to April of this year I feel the need to share this inspirational video with you guys. A very good friend of mine at school shares the same obsession and in two words it's Alexander Wang. From his personality to his designs it's hard not to obsess over this Parsons alumni. Although he did drop out... But anyway I think this is one of my top interviews I've seen in a while from any designer, you can tell how humble and passionate he is about his career in fashion.

Spring 2013 Recap (Collection)

I'm going to be doing a new feature for you guys and myself to update everyone on my process at school and I think it is better to start where it starts to get serious. I wish I did start this freshmen year of Fashion Institute of Technology but I was still adjusting to everything as an aspiring designer. It's really starting to settle in now because I am going to be a junior in the fall (August 28th) and that means I will only have one more year after that... And then it's off to find a job.. Crazy right? So here is a recap of my last creations from last spring... Which was by far the most busy I've been! Pulling countless all nighters and what not. I swear going to FIT forms a small community of like minded people because we all have to put in crazy amounts of hours to get work done. That's what I love most about my school. If anyone out there is considering going here I say do it! And make friends with people of different majors, you'll learn something new everyday. So now here comes the photos! I would love feedback! And I'll be updating you guys on my fall semester as it starts back up! Hope you enjoy:

Theophlius London | Celebrate Brooklyn

Yesterday (July 6th 2013) was one of the most entertaining nights I've had so far this summer. Brooklyn truly understand how to throw down and give back to it's community. Still free after 35 years, Brooklyn blows fans away with new music and familiar artists. Previous shows offered The Roots! This year, fans had the chance to listen and watch the performances of Aabaraki, Les Nubians and the highlight of the night Theophilus London. Check out the video below as well as my review on his amazing performance!
